The UR-RT2 expands on Steinberg's popular UR series of audio interfaces by featuring switchable Rupert Neve Designs transformers on the front inputs for enhanced musical sound. Neve is a household name in the audio industry, synonymous with high-end mixing desks and other hardware, which were used on an uncountable amount of timeless records, and still is today.

A big part of the signature sound a Neve console can provide is within the transformer, which gives a pleasant saturated and slightly compressed quality. The UR-RT series of interfaces feature these transformers on the input, so when combined with the D-PRE preamps within, provide more'depth and perspective' to the sound.

This includes rich harmonics and a versatile dynamic range, beneficial for vocals, acoustic guitar and many other instruments. These are also togglable, so can be switched off when not wanted and won't affect the sound of the D-PRE preamps in any way. The UR-RT4 is still very much the UR interface known and loved by many musicians, and features all of the functionality of the other models. Phantom power is present, as is MIDI in and out. There is also the option for a Kensington lock for added security.
