For sale is the Roland TR-8S - used and in excellent condition. There is a small mark on the plastic near the screen but this of course doesn't affect the playability and is not as easy to spot in person as it is in the pictures. The Roland TR-8S is Roland's latest ACB (analogue circuit behaviour) drum machine, which combines not only all of their classic drum machines (808, 909, 707, 727, 606 etc) but also holds a large array of samples. The TR-8S also allows the user to import their own samples, which expands the flexibility of the unit exponentially. The ACB drums can be manipulated in a variety of ways, starting with tuning (not all the sounds could be pitched on the original boxes) and decay, and goes on to options such as filtering and other sound design options.

The samples can be manipulated in even more ways - the user can change the start and end points, choose the playback speed, and even reverse them. Samples are imported from an SD card into the machine (8gb card included) and can be assigned to any track from the'samples' menu. This is a fast, immediate drum machine with a wide variety of uses. You can import bass samples and record filter automation for that TB-303'acid' squelch, import chords for classic house tracks and mangle vocal samples for more experimental moments.

All sounds are processed through individual track effects including distortion, bit crushing and compression, then run through the reverb and delay send FX. There are multiple reverb and delay types - I love the modulated reverb and the tape delay.

This signal is then run into a master effect, which can be a low pass filter, high pass filter, low and high pass combined filter, compression and more. The TR-8S has assignable outs for those who like to use a mixer or who have a large soundcard, and USB is available for easy MIDI in/out, as well as USB audio, which streams all 11 individual tracks over USB. The TR-8S is a USB audio interface, and can receive incoming audio. There is also an internal sidechain, which ducks incoming audio to the track of your choice.

The TR-8S is boxed with original power supply and USB cable. The original manual and the extended manual are included. The TR-8S will be delivered via courier (Collect +) fully tracker and insured, to avoid any complications en route.
